C3 Program and Process
C3 brings congregations together for a five-month journey of discernment, learning, and holy imagination. Along the way, congregations explore five adaptive leadership muscles, learn from one another and from new contexts, and begin to discern where God is calling their church in the coming season.
What the C3 Journey Includes
-
C3 Cohort
Three congregations journey together, with each congregation bringing its pastor and 4–6 lay leaders to the online cohort.
-
Learning Journey
Each congregation sends its pastor and two lay leaders on a weekend Learning Journey to a city outside their own context with all on-site expenses covered by Wesleyan Impact Partners and Texas Methodist Foundation. Together, participants explore The Five Muscles in a new environment and begin to see what new perspectives may emerge.
-
Final Presentation
Each congregation shares what it has learned, the questions and possibilities that have emerged, and the direction it is beginning to discern for its future.
-
Seed Funding
Congregations that complete C3 are eligible for $3,000 in seed funding to experiment with and live into an emerging possibility or next faithful step.
-
Ongoing Coaching
Beyond the cohort experience, participating congregations can request up to three coaching sessions to support continued discernment, learning, and experimentation.
Congregational Investment
C3 asks each participating congregation to:
Commit to the Journey
Have its full team participate in up to nine 100-minute online cohort sessions over five months.
Make the Learning Journey
Have the pastor and two lay leaders available for one weekend of travel and cover their own transportation costs.
Invest in the process
Contribute $500 toward participation in C3.
